Circuit Breaker - Safety Switch - Surge Diverter. The Differences.

Surge Diverter

Safety switches are often confused with circuit breakers and surge diverters.
It is important to know and understand the differences.
Surge diverters protect
the property from voltage surges such as those resulting from lighting strike.
The surge diverter captures the voltage spike in the wiring within the unit itself
which would otherwise be transferred
into the equipment and wiring within
your home. Surge diverters do not act as a safety switch for personal protection
against electric shock. It is designed to redirect over voltage from a power spike.
